One of the last events of the Triton Vietnam Series awarded professional Danny Tang with a new championship and a six-figure reward.
Event #11: US$25,000 Short Deck was held over the weekend, as is traditional for the final events of this High Roller series, which are designated for 36-card stud. There were a total of 57 submissions (23 re-entries) that contributed to a prize fund of $1,425,000.

There were only eight players who cashed at a final table filled with excellent players, where Tang prevailed to earn $427,000 in prize money. Despite a difficult start to the year, the Asian is a frequent participant in this series, as he noted later.
“I’ve had a really difficult week. This is the first stop when I did not cash a check. I entered this competition five times, so I had to place fourth or fifth to qualify, but I made it.”
In order to win the trophy, he had to overcome the runner-up, Stephen Chidwick, who earned US$310,000. The series will resume in April at the Merit Royal Hotel & Casino in Cyprus after the conclusion of the last few tournaments.
